Introduction
The 4th Maia Wushu Tournament - online competition is the fourth edition of a cycle of annual tournaments organized by the Portuguese wushu club Associação Desportiva Wulin. This year, due to the constraints imposed by the pandemic, the tournament will be held in virtual format with specific regulations, in partnership with:

The tournament will take place online and will be for athletes since 7 years old, teenagers and adults with no age limit who practice modern Wushu and are properly enrolled in Portuguese or foreign associations or clubs invited by the organization. Regulations The tournament is divided into 2 types of challenges: 1. Physical challenges In the Physical Challenges tab there are 4 tutorial videos of challenges consisting of physical exercises specific to this sport. Athletes must record themselves performing the maximum number of repetitions of each exercise in 30 seconds, and follow the instructions for the submission of the 4 videos. Each athlete must record the 4 challenges in order to participate. The score for each physical challenge will be the maximum number of repetitions performed by the athlete, fulfilling all the criteria for the correct execution of the exercise. 2. Technical challenges In the Technical Challenges tab are the 2 modern Wushu bare hands categories: Changquan and Nanquan. Each athlete will have to choose only 1 category, according to his/her age (under or over 18 years old). Each category has 2 tutorial videos of challenges consisting of short sequences of movements. Each athlete must record the 2 challenges of the category in which he/she competes in order to participate. The score for each technical challenge will be awarded by a team of recognized, experienced and independent Wushu judges invited to referee this tournament. Final score The final score of each athlete will be all-round: obtained through the sum of the score achieved in the 4 physical challenges and the 2 technical challenges. Age categories Competitors will preferably be separated by gender and age within each age group.
The age group is determined by the athlete's age until the end of the current year. The organization reserves the right to divide or attach age groups if necessary. Other provisions All athletes will receive a digital certificate of participation. Athletes placed in 1st, 2nd and 3rd places will receive a medal and diploma shipped to their address. Omitted cases will be decided by the organization committee. |
